MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On July 23, 2025, Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) Law Enforcement Service Division agents and K-9 handlers were conducting a checkpoint on vehicles arriving at Limestone Correctional Facility in Harvest, Ala. During the free air sniff, two assigned canines alerted to the possibility of narcotics on a sedan driven by Correctional Security Guard Shawnia Williams, a new hire.
A hand search of the vehicle was conducted and approximately 1.5 gross grams of marijuana and a digital scale were collected.
Williams was arrested and transported to the Limestone County jail where she was charged with Possession of Marijuana 2nd an Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The ADOC investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending.
