ADOC K-9 ARREST FOUR IN CONTRABAND BUST AT VENTRESS CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Thursday evening, July 10, 2025, ADOC K-9 officers were alerted to possible trespassers at Ventress Correctional Facility. K9 teams arrived and began a track of the area. They discovered Karl Oscar Fastnacht attempting to introduce contraband. Subsequently, the Clayton Police Department located a suspicious vehicle in the area nearby and identified Jimmy Harden Murphy, Deunate Tarez Jews, and Stephanie Donnell Wilson Chapman waiting in a vehicle. Further investigation revealed that all four subjects were together and attempting to promote prison contraband.

Contraband seized included:

  • 8 g Fentanyl
  • 6 g Ecstasy
  • 14 Cell Phones
  • Charging Blocks
  • Black and Mild Cigars

All four suspects were arrested, transported to the Barbour County Jail, and charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 1st, Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Trafficking Fentanyl. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
