Two Suspects Arrested At Holman On Contraband Charges

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Monday, April 6, 2026, at approximately 12:15 a.m., K-9 officers at Fountain Correctional Facility were notified about a trespasser on the ground at Holman Correctional Facility. K-9 responded with tracking canines. They tracked and located suspect Mathew Neal Jordan. He was taken into custody without incident and turned over to Narcotics for investigation, which led to the discovery of a vehicle being driven by Samantha Lynn Gates.

  • Recovered contraband:
  • 320 grams of synthetic cannabinoids
  • 36 grams marijuana
  • 28 grams methamphetamine
  • 10 cell phones

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Escambia County Jail. Jordan was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 1st, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Synthetic, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Prohibited Activities, and Attempt to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime. Gates was charged with two counts of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime, Trafficking Methamphetamine, and Trafficking Synthetic.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
