YESCARE EMPLOYEE ARRESTED ON CONTRABAND CHARGES

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On July 11, 2025, Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) K9 and Narcotics officers were conducting a vehicle checkpoint at Limestone Correctional Facility. At approximately 5:25 a.m., a red SUV was observed turning around approximately 150 yards from the checkpoint. ADOC personnel attempted to stop the vehicle on the access road, but the driver refused to stop. After a short pursuit, the driver stopped. During the vehicle search, officers located approximately 195.33g of methamphetamines, 159.74g of marijuana, and 190g of chemically altered paper. The driver, Monica Bishop, was arrested, transported to the Limestone County Jail, and charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Promoting Prison Contraband 1st, Possession of Marijuana 1st, and Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
Bishop is an employee of YesCare, the contract healthcare provider for ADOC, and is subject to their personnel management. However, she is banned from any future admittance to ADOC property. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
