K-9 MAKES CONTRABAND BUST NEAR FOUNTAIN CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On July 29, 2025, ADOC K-9 made a contraband arrest near Fountain Correctional Facility. During a routine patrol, a K-9 officer noticed a suspicious vehicle on Poarch Creek property adjacent to Fountain. The vehicle entered state property and a suspect, later identified as Jesse Mainor, exited the vehicle. As the officer approached, Mainor got back in the vehicle and fled. The officer, with back-up from another K-9 officer and the Poarch Police Department, pursued the suspect for approximately five miles. The pursuit ended when the suspect entered a dead-end road and surrendered.

Mainor was found to be in possession of one drone. A drone controlled was located near the vehicle. A second drone and a backpack containing contraband was discovered at the initial site where Mainor was spotted.

Mainor was arrested, transported to the Escambia County Detention Center, and charged with Attempting to Elude, Illegal Drone Use on Prison Property, and Prohibited Activities.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
