ADOC K-9 MAKES ANOTHER CONTRABAND BUST AT EASTERLING

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Thursday, June 5, 2025, ADOC K-9 personnel was notified about a suspicious vehicle at Easterling Correctional Facility. The vehicle was located, and the sole occupant and driver, identified as Ja'traveon De'Angelothomas Davis, was detained and questioned.

Subsequently, tracking dogs were deployed and a track detected. The search led to a second suspect, identified as Adrom Kymell Simmons, who was in possession of several contraband packages. The contraband was confiscated and secured.

Davis and Simmons were arrested and transported to the Barbour County Jail by Sheriff’s deputies. Both were charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and Possession of Marijuana 1st.

Recovered contraband included approximately:
• 326 grams of tobacco
• 163 grams of marijuana
• 3 vapes
• 3 cell phones

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
